The Camarín and the Convent of San Jose are the remains from the old San Jose Convent of the Carmelite Order that was founded in the 16th century. The newly restored building, that has the typical Carmelitan façade with a niche, houses the chapel and the Jesus Camarín. They were created to lodge the Renaissance sculpture of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth (known as the Grandfather in Jaén), which belongs to the brotherhood, founded in San Jose Convent in 1588. The sculpture is carried in the processions in the morning of Good Friday, delighting thousands of devotees. In the façade we can see a beautiful sculpture of San José made in terracotta by Paco Tito.

Free entrance.
